The MacBook Pro Model 9.2 Mid 2012 A1278 uses the 922-9525 trackpad, compatible with 13" Unibody models from 2009 to Mid 2012. Meanwhile, the 923-0225 Apple Trackpad is designed for the MacBook Pro 2013 trackpad, highlighting differences in compatibility for later models.
